Academic Strands

We offer academic strands that give the students specialized subjects that will prepare them for their degree program of choice. 

Aligned with the vision of PCHS to become a leading agricultural high school, we now offer agriculture as an additional elective in the Technology and Livelihood Education in all four grade levels. As such, the Horticulture track shall include agricultural production, the Accountancy, Business, and Management (ABM) and STEM strands deal with post-production, product development and innovation, while HUMSS manages the marketing aspect.

Choose STEM if you plan a career in: (a) computing and data sciences, (b) design and construction, (c) electronics and digital communications, (d) health care, (e) manufacturing and mining, (f)) science and technology.

STEM will enable you to enroll in college level courses leading to a Bachelor of Science degree in:

- Architecture

- Biology, Chemistry or Physics

- Chemical Engineering

- Civil Engineering

- Computer Engineering

- Computer Science, Information Technology

- Electrical Engineering

- Electronics Engineering

- Environmental Science

- Industrial Engineering

- Mathematics

- Mechanical Engineering

- Medical Sciences

- Nursing

Choose ABM if you want to pursue a career in: accounting and finance, banking, business management, economics and corporate planning, entrepreneurship, human resources management, sales and marketing.

ABM will enable to enroll in college level courses that will lead to a Bachelor of Science degree in:

- Accountancy

- Business Management

- Economics

- Entrepreneurship

- Finance

- Human Resources

- Marketing

Choose HUMSS if you plan to pursue a career in: education, fine arts, government and public administration, journalism and media, humanities and history, psychology and behavioral sciences, law and political science. 

HUMSS will prepare you for college and finish with a Bachelor of Science degree in:

- Anthropology, Philosophy, Psychology, Sociology or Theology

- Fine Arts

- Education (Pre-School, Elementary, Secondary, English, History, Mathematics, Sciences)

- Interdisciplinary Studies (Language, Literature, Media, Philosophy, Theology)

- International Studies (Asian, American, European)

- Journalism and Mass Communication

- Law and Political Science

- Public Administration and Government

Under the TVL strand, PCHS offers Agri-Fishery Arts with specialization in Horticulture. The student can gain hands-on experience in horticulture and learn actual technical skills by getting involved in crop production at our farm land adjacent to the school grounds. 

After two years of senior high school enrolled in a TVL strand, the student shall be job-ready, will have earned enough knowledge and skills needed to qualify for a job and still have the option to go college if given the opportunity. 

Presently many PCHS graduates from the TVL strand have opted to move up to college. Others help in their family farms.
