Filipino

Ang Programang Filipino ay naglalayong maisagawa ang layunin ng PCHS bilang isang: 

· Paaralang Filipino: 

- Nalilinang ang limang makrong kasanayan- pagbasa, pagsulat, pakikinig, pagsasalita at panonood sa pagpapahayag ng mga iniisip at nadarama.

- Magiging isang huwaran sa kapwa mag-aaral at sa pamayanan sa mga magagandang katangian na dapat taglayin ng isang tao para sa kaayusan at kaunlaran ng bansa;

- Napahahalagahan ang Wikang Filipino bilang wikang Pambansa, ang mga panitikan at mga kultural na katangian na naging salamin sa lahing Filipino sa para sa pagkakaisa;

· Paaralang Katoliko at Misyon ng mga Heswita

-  Sa pamamagitan ng IPP (Ignatian Pedagogical Paradigm) ay maisapuso at maisabuhay ang pagiging mag-aaral na may takot sa Diyos, pagmamahal sa kapwa, pagmamahal sa bansa at pagmamahal at pag-aalaga sa kalikasan;

· Paaralang Agrikultural

- Kaisa sa pagsulong at pagtaguyod ng paaralan sa gawaing pang-agrikultura bilang ito ang isa sa mithiin ng institusyon;

Technology & Livelihood Education (TLE)

The TLE Program supports the vision and mission of PCHS as a

· Filipino School 

- By producing holistically skilled learners whose craftsmanship can meet the challenges of the country today

· Catholic, Jesuit Mission School

- By developing conscientious learners in the use and reuse of natural and man-made materials as part of the call to care for the creation; 

- By equipping learners with the capacity to teach and share their skills to their communities as persons-for-others

· Agricultural High School

- By drawing out the learners’ creativity in the field of agriculture as active response to the call to produce food for human consumption without exhausting the mother earth. 

Christian Life Education (CLE)

The Christian Living Education Department adopts the aims of the Pangantucan Community High School as a

· Filipino School 

- By facilitating the internalization of the teachings of the Church, which manifest Christ himself, by becoming responsible and conscientious citizens of our country.

- By showing appreciation to the fundamental mission of the Church as reflected in the Catholic social teachings that emphasizes human dignity and manifesting it in how learners live as Catholic Filipinos

· Catholic, Jesuit Mission School

- By encouraging learners to grow in profound knowledge of the Church’s doctrines and dogmas thereby facilitating a deeper personal relationship with Jesus. 

- By inculcating among the learners that giving God, the Divine Creator, all honor, praise, adoration, and glory through active participation in the sacraments and other liturgical, spiritual, and religious activities and service to one’s fellowmen is the most authentic response to God’s love for humanity. 

- By drawing out a deeper understanding of God’s work of salvation in human history through the stories in the Old Testament, its fulfilment in Jesus Christ’s nature, life and mission in the New Testament, and its continuation in the learners’ lives today. 

· Agricultural High School

- By providing avenues for learners to appreciate the importance of Agriculture as a means towards realizing our roles as stewards of the earth and sharers in God’s creative powers.

English

The English Program aims to fulfill the goals of PCHS as a

· Filipino School

- By cultivating the Filipino moral values through sharing of experiences, discussion of themes, interpretation of lines, dramatization, and drawing out significant human experiences from Filipino and foreign literary selections.

- By drawing out appreciation of the Filipino heritage through studies of various literary pieces

- By encouraging students to use the English language effectively and developing confidence and assertiveness in expressing themselves as they take on their creative and responsible roles in the community 

· Catholic, Jesuit Mission School

- By developing listening, writing, speaking, reading, and critical thinking skills (eloquentia) among the learners in order to equip them as responsible and credible bearers of Good News wherever the Lord will lead them

- By cultivating the values of generosity, reflectiveness, concern for others, and love for God through their integration in the various language and literature components of the curriculum.

· Agricultural High School

- By integrating the value of the land, importance of agriculture, and rootedness to nature in the various learning activities and performance tasks of the English program

Mathematics

The Mathematics Program supports the school’s thrusts as a

· Filipino School

- By developing inquisitive and critical paradigms in using quantitative and qualitative data and equipping them with mathematical skills and techniques to analyze figures and trends in addressing real life problems

· Catholic, Jesuit Mission School

- By drawing out among the learners their appreciation for mathematics and its importance in daily life

- By enhancing the learners’ critical thinking abilities so that they can fully utilize their potentials in responding to the needs of the society and in their practice of Ignatian discernment

- By developing the values of objectivity, accuracy, precision, and productivity among the learners in their practice and exercise of mathematical skills

· Agricultural High School

- By developing an appreciation of the relevance of Agriculture and Mathematics in real life by incorporating real agricultural production problems in the various performance tasks and mathematical problem-solving activities

Science

The Science Program aspires to align its goals with that of the school as a

· Filipino School

- By promoting Science and Technology as means towards the growth of our country by triggering curiosity and developing the scientific knowledge, skills, and values among the learners

- By equipping learners with the fundamental scientific skills that will encourage them to take up Science-related courses in college

- By emphasizing the role of Science in environmental stewardship for the sustainable development of our country 

- By highlighting the challenges that wanton use of scientific knowledge has brought in the world like pollution and scarcity of resources and using also scientific ways to address these issues

· Catholic, Jesuit Mission School

- By making the learners appreciate that their love for God can be manifested in their relationship with nature and their responsible use of natural and man-made resources which Science as a discipline promotes and facilitates

- By rendering the Ignatian value of Finding God in All Things very palpable in the learners’ adventure with discovering the beauty and intricacy of the natural world through Science

- By inculcating the primacy of Agriculture in sustaining the world through sustainable agricultural practices and the development of agricultural innovations that are sustainable and environmentally friendly among the learners

Music, Arts, Physical Education, and Health (MAPEH) 

The MAPEH Program supports the goals of PCHS as a

· Filipino School

- By developing awareness and facilitating a deeper appreciation of the Filipino identity through music, arts, dances, and sports including those of the local indigenous communities through performances, games, and presentations.

- By providing avenues for students to have strategic rest amid the rigors of academic discipline while promoting the value of a healthy and well-balanced lifestyle

- By recognizing and celebrating the giftedness of each learner through the many opportunities for learners to discover their gifts, talents, and skills thereby boosting their self-esteem and value for their person as blessed by God

- By promoting the oft-used adage among Jesuit institutions, mens sana in corpore sano (a sound mind in a sound body) through sports, dances, and other health programs

· Agricultural High School

- By using arts, music, and health as media for expressing and promoting the role and value of agriculture in a country that relies heavily on agriculture 

Araling Panlipunan

The Araling Panlipunan Program supports the aims of PCHS as a

· Filipino School

- By forming our learners to become sensitive, conscientious, and responsible Filipino citizens by exposing students to the various realities of the country and the world today, understanding trends and acquiring lessons from history, and developing critical thinking and sound reasoning in trying to sort out and address the issues today.

-  By developing a strong sense of social responsibility and accountability, sense of history, and deep involvement through good citizenship and love for country by providing them opportunities to discover how interconnected the issues in the local community, municipality, province, region, nation, and the world are and to seek out and make informed, well-balanced choices.

- By inculcating honorable social values like integrity, freedom, and justice through the discussion on Filipino heroes and martyrs that will equip them in contributing towards national moral recovery

- By emphasizing that love for God as Catholic Christians is best manifested in one’s love for country and neighbor by becoming responsible Filipino citizens

- By providing opportunities for the learners to utilize what they learned in their course on Catholic Social Teachings in the issues facing the country today

- By encouraging the learners to practice Ignatian spirituality in finding creative solutions to the problems of the society today.

· Agricultural High School

- By using the state of Agriculture in the country as a means towards challenging the learners to recognize the importance and significance of agriculture in a predominantly agricultural country

- By providing avenues for the learners to appreciate the value and dignity of farmers vis-à-vis the oft-appreciated and chosen mainstream professional careers
